So much for national pride

I seldem get this political. Because I am a Singaporean right? We reserve our rights to the bedrooms. I hate to say this. The job scene is getting weird these days. It is almost like if you are imported then you are good. If you are local, here's the pair and mop. In case you think that I am dead against foreign talents, I am not. I believe in, may the best person get the job and not depend on the country that you come from. There is so much generalisation that it is killing the rest of us who are in specialisation.

Weeks after weeks, we have been assured by the government that thousands of jobs are created every month. Yes, there are, mainly in the low to middle level. You can be the server in the Integrated resorts but your managers and bosses are people ferried specially from the Las Vegas. You can be the marketing executive for a retailer but your big boss is an Ang Mo who knows nutts about the country and its people. Are we necessarily worse than the immigrants in terms of knowledge and experiences? Then why are other countries willingly to pay big bucks to attract us?

Why are our own people not good enough for our country but we are welcomed with opened arms in others? I was always told that I am one of the top brains here but why do I feel like a 2nd class resident? It is like, to combat the blazing sun, you installed more air-conditioners, but you left the windows open. In your quest to attract talents, you are forcing your own blood out.

Maybe I should go to India.

Ang Mohs are always welcome here. Fat or thin, ang moh is good.

Come come.
